Did you get Hans' most recent newsletter?* Hans' customer Mary Curtin tried the windowpane fabric project described there and made this beautiful piece.

Mary is a newly retired teacher and one of  her sewing  goals is to reduce her fabric stash. The project calls for layering a variety of fabrics. She chose pieces for a sea theme, emphasizing blues and greens.  The fabrics underneath reveal manatees and  fish bones. Her next to last layer was a shimmery gold fabric  signifying the gold at the bottom of the sea.  What makes her piece even more fun is that she used the decorative stitches on her Janome 4000 machine for the rows of decorative stitching. She found a stitch to simulate fish tails, kelp, & sea weed.  Nice work Mary!
