Things to do with non-skid
rubberized shelf liner
 |
This great material is made by a number of companies
and can be found at your hardware store or department store, pharmacy or
grocery store. It also comes in different thicknesses. |
 | Sewing:
Leave a square by your machine
so that your scissors, your seam ripper, or other little sewing
notions that want to fall on the floor stay put when you toss them down. |
 | Machine Quilting:
cut little squares
and place under your fingers to help grip material during free motion
quilting; |
 | Serging: Cut a thicker (or double)
square the size of your "serger footprint" to keep it from
"walking" when serging at high speeds; |
 | Hooped Embroidery:
 | When working with thin fabrics, using lightweight shelf liner, cut strips 1" by 4" to 6" or
more (depending on the size of your hoop) and tuck into the long sides
of your hoop so that it grips your fabric more tightly. The liner lies
on top of your fabric between the top fabric and the inner hoop. |
 | using lightweight liner, cut a small square and use it to grip the
tightening screw on the hoop if you have a touch of arthritis or lack
hand strength |
