Transforming Sweatshirts

Students enjoying an all day workshop transforming purchased sweatshirts into jackets.

And here are some of the works in progress! -Pat made a vest: cutting off the arms 2 inches below the arm seam, turning under the fabric at the armhole stitching line, and using the remaining fabric as a self-facing. Her vest is embellished with satin- stitched circles and meandering satin-stitched ribbons. Mary free-motion appliqued her alligators along the bottom of her royal blue sweatshirt jacket and added striped plackets. Claire show-cased her fabric with simple-to-add pockets and front placket.
