To
our Valued Customers;
After
over 54 years of serving Southern Wisconsin, the decision has been made to
close the doors of Hans’ Sewing & Vacuum, with our last day of
business being Saturday, June 28th, 2008. The sewing industry, for a
number of reasons, began a downward trend several years ago, and
unfortunately this decline can’t continue to support the level of
customer service and support that have been the hallmark of our business.
For
those of you who’ve purchased sewing machines or sergers which still
fall under our labor warranty, rest assured that this warranty will be
honored. The logistics are still being worked out. Please check our web
site for updated information, as it will be posted here.
I
hope you will join me in thanking all of the employees we’ve had who
have worked so very hard to insure we had happy customers: Bill, Bobbie,
Harold, Judy, Norbert, Melinda, Kelly, Trish, Kris, Sandy, Julie, George,
Denise, Lonny, Denny, Diane, Steve, Patty, Barb, Katie, Sandra, Patrick,
Margaret, Christina, Jenny, Rebecca, Kim, Eileen & Deb. Thanks so much
also to the many fine instructors who shared their expertise and love of
sewing with so many of their happy students.
My
appreciation also goes out to the three generations of my family who
contributed so much of their life and time to make Hans’ Sewing &
Vacuum the success it was. My dad (Hans) was the founder and the fuel for
our business. He had an incredible work ethic, and in his heyday routinely
worked 18+ hours every day, and I never heard him ever complain about it.
He took pride in his products, his ability to expertly service them, and
in the tens of thousands of customers he helped in the over 42 years he
worked in our business. Accolades also go out to my late grandparents and
mother, and to my wife, all of whom worked tirelessly doing whatever
needed to be done to keep the business strong and successful. And to my
two beloved children: the one good thing to come out of our business
closing is that you’ll finally have a dad who will be able to spend the
time with you that you deserve - that’s what moms and dads are supposed
to do.
Finally,
all of us who have worked at Hans’ wish to thank you, our customers, for
having made this 54 year run possible. We’ve enjoyed the many
relationships we established with you, and took a great deal of delight in
being able to help you with finding the right product, answering your
questions, solving your problems, and servicing your equipment. We
appreciate having had the opportunity to serve you and truly wish each and
every one of you the very best.
